Land Rover Range Rover
Predicted Cost: $90,900
Land Rover’s popular Rover is one of their best selling and most highly acclaimed vehicles in recent years. The SUV-focused company has consistently released high-quality vehicles that are efficient both on city roads as-well-as on rough terrains. The 2020 version of the Rover offers considerable improvements from various high-tech updates to a seriously upgraded Terrain Response System, which was already highly acclaimed by reviewers in the first place. Morale is very high for Land Rover and consumers alike, with the company claiming that it is fully “poised, confident, and refined” for the coming release of the 2020 Rover.
The new Rover will also feature a variety of models to choose from, including the Velar S, Velar R-Dynamic SE, Velar, and Velar R-Dynamic HSE. The main difference between these versions is mostly the engine, so the more cash you’re willing to pay the stronger your Rover will be. The base version of the SUV starts at a 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine and goes up to a five-liter V8 engine that produces some serious power. In terms of gas mileage, you’re looking at around 22 miles per gallon in the city and 28 on the highway, which we consider average.
Toyota 4Runner
Predicted Cost: $36,020
The 2020 Toyota 4Runner is arguably one of the best vehicles your family can have if you're planning to take that intense desert and mountain vacation you've always talked about but never seemed to commit to. Imagine a modern mid-size SUV with 270 horsepower and excellent cargo capacity that can withstand everything from rough terrains to messy mountains.
Unfortunately for the 4Runner, the troubles don't start when you're actually offroad — they start on the way there. It seems that the 4Runners strengths, which include its rugged build and fantastic suspension, are actually its biggest problems in normal day to day driving. When you're on regular paved roads, the steering feels stiff and challenging. The 2020 4Runner integrated a variety of improvements to the vehicle's safety systems, including driver-assistance and pre-collision preventing through automated breaks. In summary, if you're looking for an excellent off-road vehicle to take specifically on tough terrains you'll be very pleased with the 4Runner. For all other uses, it'd be best to give this one a pass.
Porsche Cayenne
Predicted Cost: $66,800
The Porsche Cayenne is the automaker’s gift of combining both an SUV and a sports vehicle into one incredible driving experience. This has been similarly done by other popular car manufacturers such as the Mercedes GLC and the BMW X6, although there’s undoubtedly something very unique about the Cayenne, most likely in its ability to perform with the same intensity and glam of the 911 while also feeling very protected and daring inside its hunky exterior frame.
The Cayenne’s engine is a turbocharged V6 three-liter beast that produces 335 horsepower and 332 foot-pounds of torque, which is not surprising considering that it was originally designed by Audi. If you’re really brave and looking for the best performance the Cayenne offers, you can go for the upgraded version that includes a terrifying twin-turbo V8 four-liter engine that gives you a 541 horsepower, a 40% increase in strength to an already powerful engine. There’s not too much new in the 2020 version of the Cayenne except the usual small improvements here and there. The 2020 Porsche Cayenne starts at $66,800, the Cayenne Coupe is $75,300, and the Turbo Coupe starts at a whopping $130,100.
T-Roc Convertible
Predicted Cost: $20,000
Volkswagen’s $20,000 T-Roc Convertible is basically a half-priced Range Rover Evoque convertible for people who are not looking to spend an exuberant amount of money on a competent SUV. The T-Roc convertible first appeared last year at the Frankfurt auto show in Germany and surprised audiences with its soft-top which takes only nine seconds to go from closed to open. If you’re the type of driver that likes to have the roof go down while you’re driving, you’ll be happy to hear you can take off the top as long as you’re driving below 20 miles per hour.
There are multiple models to choose from depending on your budget and power needs, including a 1-liter three-cylinder engine, a 1.5 liter four-cylinder engine, and a twin-turbo engine if you’re really looking for some power. Reactions to the Volkswagen T-Roc convertible have been mixed, with some applauding the car company for its bold steps, and other mocking the convertible as an April fool's joke.
Fiat 124
Predicted Cost: $25,390
Fiat surprised and thrilled fans when it announced its new Fiat 124. The great thing about Fiat’s sports cars is that they’re always bold, interesting and special. Not too much has changed in the 2020 version of the Fiat 124 except various safety upgrades, which are always welcome in a car that mostly caters to sports fans. The exterior of the car remains mostly unchanged, which is a great decision in our opinion because the 124 is an absolutely gorgeous piece of work. This is a really good sports car that’s cheap and offers a lot more than you hope, with excellent handling, efficient fuel economy, comfortable and great looking interiors, and a very user-friendly build.
The lightweight racer can go quite fast due to its turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine and 160 horsepower; You should expect a zero to sixty climb in just around six seconds. For all intents and purposes, as long as you're not an exceptionally tall person and don't need to load too much stuff in the trunk, there’s no reason why you won’t thoroughly enjoy driving the 124, otherwise known as the "Spider". Prices for the 2020 Fiat 124 start at around $25,000, making it one of the most affordable sports cars in the world.
